Allianz Australia announces new MD from 2018

Allianz Australia Limited Chairman, John Curtis announced today that Richard Feledy has been appointed Allianz Australia Limited’s Managing Director (MD) from 1 January 2018.

“Richard’s experience, across all aspects of insurance and leadership qualities made him a great fit for the position. He is the right person to lead Allianz into the future. He brings a broad and deep knowledge of insurance to the role, serving on the leadership team of Allianz for seven years as our Chief Technical Officer,” said Mr Curtis.

His appointment follows a thorough recruitment process, endorsed by the Allianz SE Board of Management SE and Allianz Australia Limited’s Board of Directors.

Mr Feledy will replace Niran Peiris who has been promoted to the Allianz SE Board of Management from 1 January 2018.

“Allianz is a great place for people to grow their careers, with both Mr Peiris and Mr Feledy being promoted into more senior roles in the company and Group. I’m delighted that we have strong homegrown talent at Allianz.”

Mr Feledy will move into a newly created Deputy MD role before commencing as MD. His immediate priorities will be building on our focus on customers and advancing our digital agenda.

Member of the Board of Management of Allianz SE responsible for Australia Dr. Axel Theis thanked Mr Peiris for his contribution to Allianz.
