David Jones Limited appoints new Non-Executive Director

David Jones Limited (DJS) today announced the appointment of Melinda Conrad as a Non-Executive Director of the Company. It is intended that Ms Conrad will stand for election as a director at the Company’s Annual General Meeting on 22 November 2013.

Ms Conrad is an experienced Non-Executive director who sits on the Boards of The Reject Shop Limited, The Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, The Garvan Medical Research Institute Foundation and the NSW Government Agency for Clinical Innovation. She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and advises companies on Strategy and Marketing in the retail, consumer goods, healthcare and government sectors.

Prior to taking on these Non-Executive and advisory roles Ms Conrad was a Brand Manager at Colgate Palmolive and the CEO and Owner of Living and Giving Retail as well as the CEO and Founder of Conrads Warehouse Retail. Ms Conrad has completed a BA at Wellesley College Boston, USA and a Master of Business Administration at Harvard Business School.

David Jones Chairman Mr Peter Mason said, “Melinda brings experience in retail and marketing, in particular brand building and the development and implementation of consumer strategies. This will be a valuable asset as the Company transforms itself into a world class Omni Channel Retailer and addresses the structural changes currently taking place in the retail sector.”
